Integrity: The Guiding Principle of Wesley Armes

Wesley Armes, a man of unwavering commitment and service, is defined by his unshakeable integrity. Throughout his life, integrity has been the cornerstone of his actions and the guiding principle behind his service to his country, family, and community.

Military Service: A Testament to Integrity

Wesley’s military career, spanning 23 years, exemplifies his unwavering commitment to integrity. His journey through the Marine Corp and later the National Guard set the foundation of his beliefs in right and wrong. After several years and time to mature, Wesley Armes developed into a leader that embraced the seven Army Corp Values; Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Honor, Selfless Service. Integrity and Personal Courage. He holds a firm belief that if a person holds Integrity at the top of the list, the other six should fall in place and be natural for the individual. Integrity simply said and delivered to all levels of students, athletes and children that he has worked with, “always do the right thing, even when no one else is watching”.

Family Man: Leading by Example

As a devoted husband and father, Wesley has always led by example. The Armes’ children grew up in an environment in which they could sit and talk about different opinions and issues in their lives. Wesley and his wife, Christina agreed that many decisions that their faced should be made by the children, with guidance from the parent team. That guidance was always based on life experiences and education. Wesley and Christina married young, both still children themselves and both still in high school when they said their vows. Despite struggling as young parents, they both agreed that the only way their children would be successful was if they as parents could model success for them. That was the drive for both parents to complete their education goals, high school level for both and a college degree and more for Wesley. Wesley Armes is a firm believer that “Do as I say and not as I do” has no place in a leader’s vocabulary, a leader should always be willing to set the example.

Educator and Community Leader: Upholding Integrity in Leadership

Wesley’s commitment to integrity extends beyond his military service and family life. In his role as a coach over the years, he has believed that Integrity is the most important thing to teach any young man or woman. He has always loved to teach the love of all sports and other activities, having winning seasons and losing seasons. No matter wins or losses, Wesley holds a strong belief that all youth athletics is the best platform to develop the character of our youth, doing something they love and getting good behavior reinforcement while doing it. As a full-time instructor at Clay High and his involvement in the Future Leaders Program, he teaches young minds the importance of integrity and honesty as the foundation of leadership.
